At Animal Assist Canine Academy, we are dedicated to setting the highest standards for Goal-Based Animal Assisted Intervention Services, specifically Crisis Response and Community Resource K9s. We ensure that every canine and handler is trained to deliver appropriate support in various settings.
Our standards committee comprises dog trainers, service dog trainers, breeders, healthcare professionals, veterinarians, law enforcement personnel, educators, first responders, and mental health experts.
We integrate expertise from various fields to establish clear standards based on best practices. We prioritize regularly reviewing and updating these standards in response to new research, team feedback, and the evolving needs of the communities we serve. Our goal is to ensure that our interventions are both effective and safe for individuals and canines, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for those who benefit from animal-assisted interventions.
Our approach sets itself apart from other standards by placing equal emphasis on both the handler and the canine. By implementing the AACA standards, the agency can effectively mitigate liability by addressing the training needs of both handlers and canines.
